Kathleen Sardi

Pennsylvania United States
(b. - d. 2013)

Kathleen Sardi of Mountville, Pennsylvania, passed away at Hospice and Community care, Mount Joy, with loving family at her side. She is survived by her husband Marco and three children, as well as her extended family across the Lancaster, Pennsylvania area, the Eastern Seaboard, greater United States, and Europe. "Life is short, make fun of it" is a saying Kathleen made part of her life.

The story of Kathleen was a story of love in action. Love of family, love of friends, and love of community highlighted her life. Her laughter and sense of fun permeated all she touched. Her family was her first love. She was her children's biggest cheerleader while holding them to the highest standard. She constantly gathered family, friends, neighbors and all their children for any reason to celebrate. She created fun and shared her culinary skills which were unmatched.

Shortly after the birth of her first child, Kathleen found La Leche League, a support group for women looking to enrich the bonds between children and family. La Leche League was the recipient of Kathleen's gifts of leadership and love of family when she became a La Leche League Leader, providing support groups in person and on the phone. On April 18, 2010 at the 14th Annual Celebrate Life Luncheon, Kathleen received a Susan G. Komen award, a tribute to her efforts in the fight against cancer. She developed Women's Cancer Courage of Lancaster, a support group for all women facing the challenges of cancer.
