Adapted from a eulogy submitted by Deirdre van Staden, LLL Public Relations, South Africa.

Stefanie became a La Leche League Leader in July 1981 and LLL played an important role in her life. She nurtured many women through leadership, always seeing the potential in other mothers and then enthusiastically supporting and encouraging them through the accreditation process. Committed to helping to make the world a better place, she delighted in helping others reach their potential. Stefanie was a good listener with great understanding, yet many of us appreciated her practical, no nonsense approach to life. Those who knew and worked with Stefanie are grateful and feel honoured to have had Stefanie as a friend, mentor, teacher and trusted wonderful LLL Leader. Along with her commitment went a strong sense of duty. LLL was privileged to receive support from a woman of her caliber. What Stefanie accomplished in her life will bear fruit for generations.
